Two days in Lourdes is the length of stay we recommend most often to visitors who walk through our door. The first day for Bernadette, the second to gain some altitude — quite literally.
Keep the first day for the essentials — the Sanctuary, the Grotto of Massabielle, Bernadette's houses, the torchlight procession — laid out hour by hour in our article what to do in Lourdes in 1 day.
The second day is devoted to the surroundings and to the town's history: panoramas, heritage, and museums. A more relaxed pace, ideal after the intensity of day one. Here is how we, descendants of the Soubirous family, would organize it.
